The Young Golfers, Thurso Bay - Watercolour. Anon. c1830.
A fine, unique, panorama of the Bay looking out towards
the Orkney Isles with golfers depicted on the beach in
the style of William Daniel.
19 x 38 inches.
Any 19th Century golfing artwork is rare but to find a
substantial piece circa 1830 is virtually unheard of.
This large and fine panorama of Thurso Bay on the northern
most coastline of Scotland shows young golfers playing
the game on a sandy beach and although unsigned is a wonderful
example of a gifted amateur's abilities.
